Profile information for Anne Tempel

Anne was born and raised in the Midwest, USA.  Studied music for most of her life and studied abroad in the Czech Republic in 2002 - 2003.  Got a grant to study musical manuscripts in the Prague National Library, ended up finding and transcribing works by Jan Jakub Ryba, a Czech contemporary of Mozart.  In later years, Anne moved to China and stumbled across the film “Garbage Warrior,” which led her to pursue the challenge of bringing earthships to China.  Two and a half years later, and after interning twice with the Earthship Biotecture crew, she ended up coordinating the first earthship build in Guangzhou, China in March/April 2011, which is finished now.  Now she is involved in the Earthship Biotecture company, building and coordinating other projects. The last project, where Anne was present, was the build of two earthships on an island in British Columbia, which were just finished.

Profile information for Demian Larsen

Demian was born and raised in California, USA.  When he was a teenager, he met Michael Reynolds’s son in school.  He ended up visiting Jonah, Mike’s son, in Taos, New Mexico for a summer and never left.  Earthships became his life and he has now been a part of the company crew for almost 20 years.  He was seen in the documentary “Garbage Warrior” and has a twin brother, Seth, who also works for the company.  He believes earthships are a solution and hopes to spread Biotecture principles and building techniques around the world.
